Retail executives predict the cheapest shopping period in years during the U.S. holiday season for $35 and less merchandise, including TVs, toys, dresses, and sporting goods.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that toys, games, and hobby gear will be cheaper this holiday season for the first time since 2020, while athletic items will be cheaper for the first time since 2018.
TVs are three-fourths the price they were in 2019, while men’s suits, outerwear, sports coats, women’s outfits, and audio equipment are 8% to 14% cheaper.
Kevin Simpson, chief investment officer at Capital Wealth Planning, said Walmart, Target, and Home Depot are demonstrating customer health caution and may have lower margins after the season.
