China’s premium electric vehicle manufacturer Nio plans to launch a new mass-market model and a smaller EV in Europe for less than $30,000.
The Onvo brand, which is currently known as “Alps,” will launch its new L60 model by the end of this month. The Firefly brand, codenamed “Alps,” will create smaller EVs for city driving that cost less than $30,000.
Both brands will target Europe, with the first Onvo L60 expected to reach Europe by year-end.
Nio is moving away from its subscription model and towards leasing and selling cars online or in large city showrooms.
The company has begun selling cars in Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
