China’s embassy in Singapore has warned Chinese residents to avoid all types of betting, claiming that gambling abroad breaches Chinese rules.
The warning comes as Beijing intensifies its crackdown on Chinese residents gambling in Southeast Asia, a major tourist destination.
The embassy has reminded most Chinese in Singapore to raise their legal understanding and avoid gaming.
China has issued warnings to several nations to curb unlawful activities and risks to individuals abroad, including fraud, money laundering, kidnapping, detention, trafficking, and smuggling.
China and Vietnam’s ministries of public security have also agreed to strengthen law enforcement cooperation.
